Bulat arrived on the music scene in 2007 with the release of Oh, My Darling. "... (the album) showcases Bulat's soothing, throaty voice and her dead-on aptitude for poignant, classic songwriting. From gracefully sad to hopeful and joyous, she exudes an earthy, organic quality to the music's mystic, Phil Spector-like backbone." - SPIN
The album received a Polaris Music Prize Short list nod and saw the beginning of Bulat’s tireless touring schedule in Europe, North America and Australia. In early 2010 she released, Heart of My Own. Songs inspired by traveling between cities, crossing the Canadian prairies, searching for a place to stop in the Nevada desert, trailing through the Smoky Mountains, standing in the bright dusk of a summer night in the Yukon. Basia plays autoharp, guitar, piano, organ, pianoette, banjo, ukulele, bass and of course, sings.
