The motto of Buddy & the Straight Way Travelers is “stop hating on each other and work together,” a positive reminder presented in soul-soothing R&B/gospel harmonies by the young group. Jadarrel “Buddy” Buchanan has worked with gospel groups for years, but decided to start his own in 2007 with Kevin Jones, Chris Jones and James Howard Jr. Since then, Buddy has released a solo album, Don’t Wanna Be Left Behind, and he and the Straight Way Travelers appear monthly at the Dallas House of Blues gospel brunch.
