Elizabeth Mitchell has been crafting gorgeous, delicate folk songs since she studied at Brown University in the ’80s, but it wasn’t until 1998 that she and her husband, Dan Littleton, recorded their first album of children’s songs in a single day. Mitchell has since created many more sweet kid songs including an album with her longtime friend and Brown roommate, Lisa Loeb. Their collaboration, Catch the Moon, was released in 2004 with an accompanying storybook illustrated by Mitchell’s mother. Mitchell’s latest, You Are My Little Bird, was released in 2006 on Smithsonian Folkways, and features a cover of the Velvet Underground’s “What Goes On.”
