Wisconsin’s Kings Go Forth know how to throw it back. Getting their kicks in the sunshine, feel-good “oooh-ahhh” fever of ’70s funk and soul, the band writes songs full of rich harmonies and disco-bred rhythms. Founded by Andy Noble, owner of Lotus Land Records in Milwaukee, Kings Go Forth are a 10-piece lineup fronted by singers Black Wolf & Danny Fernandez. The group released their full-length debut, The Outsiders Are Back, earlier this year, prompting Spin magazine’s cautionary warning, “Sharon Jones, move over.”
