Inspired by its own Sicilian culture, Qbeta delivers music that’s an eclectic and funky mix of Mediterranean and Latin sounds, illustrating the diverse musical upbringings of its entourage of members. Their latest work, 2008’s Ognittanto, showcases the band’s deep roots in the culture of southern Italy, chock full of stirring rhythms and rich harmonies. Led by vocalist and guitarist Peppe Cubeta, Qbeta is used to conjuring a pulsing frenzy from its crowds. The band is supported by musicians Salvo Cubeta, Sebastiano Forte, Santi Romano, Filippo Alessi, Claudio Alfo, Stefano Ortisi and Jorge Blengino. TWEETS
