Just as The Strokes' 2001 debut Is This It had a cultural impact greater than virtually any album of the previous decade, so has the band’s return to the live stage for this year’s festival season generated anticipation and accolades beyond measure.
Playing alongside one another for the first time in some four years, Julian Casablancas, Nikolai Fraiture, Albert Hammond Jr., Fabrizio Moretti and Nick Valensi have reportedly been slaying crowds from the Isle of Wight to Lollapalooza. The handful of Strokes shows concluding with ACL have been featuring a veritable greatest hits collection culled from Is This It, Room On Fire and First Impressions Of Earth, all imbued with both a renewed sense of purpose and the familiar chemistry shared by the five people who were destined to create classics like “Last Nite,” “Hard To Explain,” “Someday,” “Reptilia,” “12:51,” “The End Has No End,” “You Only Live Once,” “Heart In A Cage,” “Juicebox” and more.
The Strokes' ACL appearance will very likely be fans’ last chance to catch the band live before they return to the studio to complete their long awaited fourth album.

electronic ron , about 1 year agoThe best band at this years ACL. This write up on them is dull/typical...looks like what someone would have wrote in 2001. They could have mentioned all the bands that The Strokes have influenced(KOL,YYY's,Arctic Monkeys,Libertines....) How 'Is This It', by many polls, is one of the best albums of the decade(NME's number #1)...
