Though Wesley Bray & the Disciples of Joy are a fairly new group, Bray himself is no music newbie. He’s been performing in gospel groups since he was a teenager. Bray started out in the Soul Revivers, then joined the band Malachi when he moved to Austin in 1985. Malachi performed for 14 years, recording 45 singles and an album. After taking time off to help raise his family, Bray joined the Original Bells of Joy in 2003, and in 2008, he started his current project. The group has released one album, titled Heaven, and frequently perform at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q’s gospel brunch. TWEETS
